Explore different dimensions of health with me

I’m celebrating 30 years as a health professional this year, and after some soul searching, job change, and inspiration, I’ve decided to create a place to share what I’ve learned. The lessons have been forged in my practice across multiple health arenas and as I have related to people who came to me for help with their own journeys. I like to tell a story, whether it is my own or an edited version of someone else, to relay a point. Hopefully you will relate and be inspired to make a change or feel like you can start the process and have some hope for your health future. How will I do this? First, I started this website and will try to use it as a place to process, and leave information and inspiration to help you, the reader, take charge of your health. I’ll be writing and leaving tips, pictures, links, and hints that I’ve practiced and that I’ve seen work with friends, patients and colleagues over the years. My hope is that you will be inspired to partner with me in seeking the best life we could possibly live and enjoy with our friends, family and community. This is the essence of health.

Health is about different components that integrate into a fulfilling life. Here are the 3 dimensions that I’d like to explore in these pages:

  1. Choice: Beer, physicians, preventative health: these are all choices, and we need to navigate them well.
  2. Adventure: Icelandic waterfalls fit in this category. How does a lifestyle of adventure lead to better health? Time to explore…
  3. Habits: Hiking is hard and so is doing the work of health. Everyday habits are vital to all of us moving forward. This is the daily grind.

These topics will review current issues in health and practical ways to translate this information to your own life. I aim to be evidenced based, and practical as well as informative. As well, as I try to practice what I preach, I’ll leave you some ideas and struggles to ponder.

I believe that having goals and dreams to realize in your life is going to help you feel better and live a fulfilled life. I want to get practical about this and help us all grab onto adventure as a core principle in our lives.
